Maple (Abby)

When we lost our amazing dog, Bobes in March, we knew that we would need company for Mini (our lovely Chihuahua) soon and we wanted to give a rescue dog a new life.  When we found the Scruffy Dog Rescue (SDR), it all made sense and Maple (then Abby) grabbed our attention immediately, as the beautiful SDR cover girl!  From then onwards it was almost too good to be true. The team at SDR are so genuinely dedicated to helping each dog find the right family and they support you every step of the way, from sending you regular videos and photos before you meet and answering all seemingly stupid questions you can think of, to spending 20 minutes on the phone with you discussing things you hadn’t thought of after you have taken your new family member home.

Maple is one of the most loving (and very enthusiastic!) dogs we have ever met.  She has settled in really well, learnt commands pretty quickly and loves walks with her new sister.  Maple’s baby boy, Alfie, has also now gone to live with my brother, sister-in-law, niece and nephew, so they will be seeing each other regularly.

Truly a happy ending thanks to SDR! 🙂
